Join Sunrise Health Foods & Get Real Nutrition on Saturday, June 4 from 11 AM to 8 PM at the Chicago and Northwest Indiana ‘Heal the Planet Farm Festival’ hosted by Locavore Farm in Grant Park (IL).

The entire day is dedicated to honoring and supporting the good work of those improving our local food system. Small, sustainable farms within a 50 mile radius of Locavore Farm will join an exclusive organic and artisan market, featuring local farms, chefs, and artisans (produce, flowers, hand-crafted goods, pottery, jewelry, organic soaps & candles, and more). Event attendees will connect with farms close to their communities and learn about their growing practices, CSA programs, which markets they attend, and how to source food directly.

Meet event co-sponsor Jordan Rubin,  New York Times Best-Selling Author of the Maker’s Diet plus 24 additional titles and founder of GET REAL NUTRITION as he shares 10 strategies that helped him overcome crohn’s disease and stage 4 cancer with the focus on plants, herbs, and how restoring our planet restores health.

Throughout the day, guests can attend 20-minute DIY workshops on everything from soap making, kombucha, teas & herbs, backyard chickens, growing food, to basic butchering.

Meet Bill Wilson of Midwest Permaculture and find out how he and Jordan Rubin began the process of regeneration at Heal the Planet Farm. He will also explain how permaculture design holds several keys to abundant living while it also cares for other people and the planet itself.

Guests will enjoy farm tours, hayrides, fishing, nature projects for kids, a live jazz concert, and a gourmet boxed lunch prepared by Chef Sara Gallagher of Stella Bear Foods.  Sit at Locavore’s  signature 100’ft. farm table or picnic around the pond.

Tickets are $50 for adults; kids under 12yrs. are free. What does your ticket include?
